Our solution

TalkGo approached us with the challenge of creating companion apps for their voice assistant accessory device for Android and iOS platforms. The apps allow users to seamlessly connect to the TalkGo device via voice commands, enabling hands-free interaction with Alexa through their smartphones.
 

The project presented a unique challenge: integrating a microcontroller with an Over-The-Air (OTA) updating system. This feature empowers users to send updates directly to the device after pairing, eliminating the need for hardware replacements or additional purchases.
 

Key aspects of our solution included:
 

UX/UI Design: We designed an intuitive step-by-step tutorial guiding users from app installation and device unboxing to successful pairing and updates.
 

Firmware Collaboration: We supported the firmware team in implementing the OTA system, ensuring seamless communication between the device and apps.
 

Certification Assistance: We facilitated Apple's MFi and Amazon's Alexa Mobile Accessory certification processes, adhering to stringent industry standards.
 

Our end-to-end approach delivered not only functional and user-friendly apps but also contributed to integrating innovative features that elevate the user experience.
